Message from Fr. Bill Quinlivan
Dear Parishioners,
May the Peace of the Lord be with you!
Like yourselves, I am spending these Lenten days in the desert of necessary health precautions.
I want you to know that I am praying for your safety, remembering you all in my daily (private) Masses and pondering the opportunities this uncertain season offers us.
To me, it feels somewhat like a retreat. I am trying to keep in touch with friends and family by phone or e-mail. I apologize for not writing this sooner. My sister has been in the hospital (a medical situation NOT related to the pandemic, thank God!) since March 1. Please keep Mary in your prayers, as I ask you to join me praying for all our sick.
I've seen the heroic work of health care workers (until visiting was suspended last Thursday) and have tried to bolster their resolve with gratitude.
As the website says, our employees at both parishes have been laid off. In their kindness, they continue to consult with me digitally and over the phone.
As the mail is delivered, I see that a number of people have sent their Catholic Charities. Since post offices are open, those are being mailed in.
Our financial reserves are limited, to be honest. Anyone still being paid for working at home I encourage to sign up for online giving. You might also mail in a donation. Of course money is going to be limited for all of us. I only mention it because the sudden shift in our lifestyles might mean you haven't even driven past your church.
The Lord is near to us, a prayer away. I intend to post occasional streams through the St. Martin's Facebook page. There are two (one Sunday Mass, a specially-written rosary reflection) already there " on demand" which means you click where it says "videos" and you can watch it or share it.
This is a time to be in communion with Our Lord and each other.
Try to read scripture, say the rosary and pray for the Lord's will. When we place our faith and trust in him no illness can take that.
Jesus, I Trust in You!!!
In His Merciful Love,
Fr. Bill

At this time, St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Martin of Tours Churches are both closed. We are unable to clean and sanitize as necessary due to temporarily laying off all employees during this time per the Diocesan directives.

The 2021 Mass Intention Books were scheduled to open April 1st, but instead they will now open when Masses resume and the Parish Offices open again. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Fr. Bill will be periodically live-streaming Masses on the

St. Martin Facebook page. (Click here to view.)

Please join him as we pray for an end to this crisis.
