Please read this letter from Cheryl McNerney, our Director of Religious Ed regarding 1st Communion. Please pass it on to anyone who may need this information.
I hope all are well and enjoying this unusual Summer.
Fr. Bill and I have met and discussed our options for 1st Communion this year.
Following the directives of NYS and the diocese we would be very limited as to
how many children and guests would be allowed. We would not be able to have
an Entrance Procession, children would not be able to participate in the Offertory or
as Readers. With the number of limitations we must still follow, we have decided that
we do not believe it is safe to ask children and families to come together in large groups.
At this time we are waiting and closely watching all updates regarding public gatherings
and will postpone any decision on scheduling 1st Communion until a later date.
When the decision is made I will contact you with all details.
If you have any questions please email me or call me at 823-8575.
Also, if you would please pass this info to any parent who may not have given me their email info.
I would appreciate the help in notifying all parents. If you would ask them to call or email so I can
add them to our list that would ensure they receive all updates.
Cheryl A. McNerney
